Monday Message - Recipe of the Week

Slow Cooker Chili


Use the slow cooker to make this chili that your kids will love and that won’t keep you in the kitchen for hours. Serves 8.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ pounds ground turkey
1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 14 ½-ounce can low-sodium diced tomatoes with chilies
1 15-ounce can pizza sauce
1 10.75-ounce can reduced-sodium tomato soup
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon ground pepper

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat
  2. Add onion and garlic.
  3. Cook about 2 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Add turkey; cook until broken up and browned, about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer turkey mixture to a slow-cooker.
  6. Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
  7. Cook on low heat for about 8 hours or on high heat for 4 hours
